In the past, a third-party certification system (certificate of origin) was generally used to receive tariff benefits in import customs clearance when importing. Tariff benefits in import customs clearance are very important to the importer when importing. In the past, a third-party certification system (certificate of origin) was generally used to receive tariff benefits. However, under the TPP-11 Agreement and the Japan-EU Agreement, the only way to receive tariff benefits is the importer self-reporting system. Under this framework, the importer must prove the origin of cargo to customs. However, the procedures are complicated for importers handling this self-reporting system for the first time. Against this background, we were asked to give advice on how to handle it.
