Due to container ship delays, the customer was looking for a temporary tank container storage facility.
Problem

Due to container ship delays, the customer was looking for a temporary tank container storage facility.

Cargo tank containers subject to the Fire Service Act were to be imported from China. But they detected the delay of the loaded container ship before entry to Port of Nagoya. The original plan was for delivery to the factory as soon as it entered the port, but they needed to adjust the schedule. As a result of the adjustment, they realized temporary storage was necessary even after the storage period in the container yard.

Because there were so many tank containers, they were looking for a storage facility near Port of Nagoya that would allow them to store all of their tank containers within the same facility and reduce the extra costs.

We proposed the use of our facility capable of storing all of the tank containers.
Proposed solution

We proposed the use of our facility capable of storing all of the tank containers.

We introduced our facility, where 224 containers of cargo (excluding some) subject to the Fire Service Act can be stored, so even if there are many tank containers at one time, they can all be stored in the same facility.

All storage areas are bonded. Also, there are two dedicated cargo handling machines so cargo handling can go on without stopping even if one of the machines breaks down. In addition, our group has dedicated tank container vehicles so we were also able to make arrangements from Port of Nagoya to our storage area.

We handled everything from storage to shipping arrangements, and were able to complete delivery.
Results and effects

We handled everything from storage to shipping arrangements, and were able to complete delivery.

After they used our facility, we received the following comments.

“By storing a large number of tank containers in the same facility, it was easy to manage and needed only one contact point, which led to smooth work. Also, since you were able to arrange transportation, we did not need to send a request form to “Company A for storage” and “Company B for transportation” so we saved time and effort. As you are open on Saturday mornings, it was also easy to adjust delivery schedules.”

We were able to perform sudden orders without delay and complete deliveries safely.
