The customer transports cargo regularly. They had an issue for some time in that they wanted to make flexible shipments as required to avoid too much being stored at the destination.
However, they often could not find transportation at the right time when they wanted to make shipments and had to adjust their own schedule.
They asked for advice as they wanted to eliminate the burden of adjusting storage volumes not required at the destination and adjusting their schedules.
Case of Problem Solving
To build a logistics system responsive to needs, we proposed logistics using marine transportation.

If you transport more products than needed, your warehouse will always be saturated. However, controlling logistics as required also creates a heavy workload. We were asked if there were any good measures to ensure an efficient logistics system.

As for deliveries, we explained that they could adjust delivery quantities to a certain extent, and that we could respond flexibly to sudden orders for shipment.
After understanding we could solve their issues by comparison with their previous transportation method, they ended up entrusting us with transportation.
Results and effects
We were able to reduce the customer’s workload and realize cost reductions too.
By executing the solution above, we were able to reduce the workload the customer had significantly.
Further, as the method of transportation itself did not change, there was no problem in terms of safety. In addition, we were able to provide the great merit of being able to achieve cost reductions in their transportation charges.
